Standards For Senior Living Sector in India, Hindu Times, September 2021

Kochi: M H Dalal, the founder chairman emeritus of the Association of Senior Living in India (ASLI) and co-chairperson of CommonAge, visited Travancore Foundation at Karukachal, Kottayam, the first pilot project of Standards Wise International India (SWII).

Addressing the press after the visit, Dalal said that senior living is an emerging option for older people living in India, mainly for those in urban areas. SWII, a fully-owned subsidiary of Standards Wise International, was invited by the Association of Senior Living in India (ASLI) to assess and accredit senior living communities in India.

The standards offer benefits and advantages to senior living and care providers and residents, aligned to the standards of International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), he said. The Push for standards in India is also led by CommonAge and its combination of SWI and ASLI will be able to produce a senior living standards and accreditation matrix for India, he added.
